WCAX: Funding extended for Central Vermont homeless shelter

The state is funding a busy warming shelter in Vermont's capital city for another year. Good Samaritan Haven, a 30-bed homeless shelter in Barre, launched a pilot warming shelter at the Bethany Church in Montpelier last winter. Good Samaritan manager Judy Joy says the 20-bed shelter was full nearly every night from November to April.

BARRE, VT A homeless shelter in Barre is turning people away all because of an old law. With winter rolling in, the Good Samaritan Haven wants to change it as soon as possible. Finding a place to warm up in the Granite City for a few hours is hard enough, let alone all all day. "It's scary not knowing where you're going to go at 7 in the morning.
