Green Mountain Transit is working with Good Sam to design a “double loop” bus route to specifically serve our Guests who access the BAART clinic in Berlin.
BAART Director, Yvette Vermette-Stevens, and Good Sam Director of Case Management, Mo Sivvy, have formed a collaborative team with Monica White and Melissa Pelchat (Director of Services and Director of Planning, respectively) of GMT to determine optimal stops and times for this service.
Mo and Yvette are coordinating around the counseling needs of shared guest-clients to make sure that the window of time between loops is adequate for fulfilling the requirements of their treatment. This partnership will also allow case managers from both agencies to provide comprehensive support for their mutual clients.
The collaboration among GSH, GMT, and BAART has grown into a proposal to develop a restorative justice pilot program for riders who have been banned from bus rides due to infractions and non-compliance issues. The plan is to consult with Restorative Programs staff from the Montpelier Community Justice Center. The first meeting for this new Community Reparations Council is scheduled for early May.
