The Mud Studio of Waterbury and The Blockhouse Studio of Waitsfield, two local community-driven ceramic arts studios, are proud to announce the annual Empty Bowl Benefit on Sunday, April 13th at the Zen Barn in Waterbury. The event will raise funds for the Good Samaritan Haven, a local homeless shelter in Barre, providing vital resources and support to those in need.

The Mud Studio and The Blockhouse Studio have been hosting this cherished community event for years, bringing together artists, local businesses, and caring individuals to make a positive impact. The Empty Bowl Benefit is a unique opportunity for attendees to select a handcrafted ceramic bowl, created by local talented artists, and enjoy a meal of soup, bread and dessert. There will also be live music, an online auction and drinks for purchase.

“I am really happy we have so much community and business support to put on this event again for its 8th year,” said Mike Sullivan, owner of The Mud Studio. “Sharing these beautiful bowls has become a wonderful tradition for the studio and its artists. We are happy to have a way to help Good Samaritan Haven continue their very needed mission in central Vermont.”

Donations from local businesses make this event possible. Red Hen Bakery, Piecasso, Sarducci’s, Joe’s Kitchen, American Flatbread (Stowe), Maxi’s, Von Trapp Farmstead, Vermont Creamery, Peggy Smith, Anne Duffy and Tom Williams are among the organizations donating food and services.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Good Samaritan Haven, a local nonprofit organization that has been providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the central Vermont area for over 40 years.

The Empty Bowl Benefit will take place on Sunday, April 13th, with seatings at 4pm and 6pm at The Zen Barn on Guptil Road in Waterbury. Tickets start at a minimum donation of $35 and are available for purchase online at themudstudio.com. Tickets include the choice of a handcrafted ceramic bowl to keep plus a meal of soup, bread and dessert. Children can participate for $10 for a meal only.
